Meet Dr. Daniel Mohanaprakash
Dr. Daniel Mohanaprakash is a leading paediatric surgeon in Malaysia, currently practicing at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, one of the top private hospitals for child surgery. Known for his gentle approach with children and clear, empathetic communication with parents, he is often regarded as a trusted baby surgery specialist for families across Kuala Lumpur and beyond.
Education & Surgical Training
After earning his MBBS from the International Medical University (IMU) in 2007, Dr. Daniel completed his housemanship at HTAA Kuantan. Driven by a passion for surgical care, he soon found his true calling in pediatric surgery—particularly after witnessing the urgent need for qualified specialists for newborns and infants in Malaysia.
He pursued his Master of Paediatric Surgery from University of Malaya (UM), graduating in 2016, and was subsequently tasked with pioneering paediatric surgical services in Pahang. He successfully initiated child surgery clinics and operating sessions across Hospital Temerloh, Hospital Kuala Lipis, and Hospital Pekan.
Dr. Daniel is widely recognized for bringing minimally invasive (laparoscopic) pediatric surgery to Pahang—giving children faster recovery and smaller scars.
From 2019–2022, he served as Head of Paediatric Surgery Department and State Head of Paediatric Surgery Pahang, developing services across multiple hospitals and mentoring junior doctors.
He then joined Hospital Tunku Azizah (HTA), Kuala Lumpur, before transitioning to private practice at Pantai Hospital KL.
